Some thoughts arrive at the worst possible moment – both hands occupied, phone out of reach, no way to type. Now there’s a better option.

Ramble is Todoist’s voice-to-tasks feature: speak naturally, and it pulls tasks, dates, and priorities straight out of what you say. And now it’s on your wrist! Ramble is available on Android smartwatches in beta, so you can capture tasks the moment they surface, without reaching for your phone.

How it works

1. Open the Todoist for Wear OS app on your smartwatch.
2. Tap the Ramble button.
3. Speak your tasks naturally. Ramble captures them in a preview on your watch screen as you talk.
4. When you’re done, tap Done or say “That’s all” to send everything to your Todoist Inbox.

Your tasks are captured and waiting, and you’ll land straight in your Inbox to review them.

When to use Ramble

The magic of Ramble on your watch is that it meets you where your phone can’t, or where pulling it out would break the moment entirely:

• You’re on a morning walk, and your mind drifts to everything you need to tackle before Friday. Talk it out, and clear your head again.
• You step out of a back-to-back meeting with five follow-ups bouncing around your head. Get them out before the next one starts.
• You’re cooking dinner, mid-chopping, and three things you need to do tomorrow suddenly all show up at once. Wrist up. Done.
• Your gym set just ended, and your brain is firing on all cylinders. Capture it before the endorphins take it with them.
• You’re drifting off to sleep, and your mind starts swirling with open loops. You don’t want to stare at your phone screen at this hour, so you just Ramble into your watch and zzzzzz…

A note on what’s different on watches

Ramble on smartwatches is built for quick capture on a small screen, so it works a little differently than Ramble on your phone or computer:

• You can set a task’s name, date, and priority while speaking. Other attributes (like projects, labels, deadlines, and descriptions) are currently not supported.
• All tasks are saved to your Inbox. You can move and refine them on your phone or other devices after capture.
