You just realized that a team workspace project is better suited as a personal project. 🫢 If you're a team admin, you can move a project to your personal workspace.

  1. Find your team name in the sidebar.
  2. Click the team project.
  3. Click the three dots icon at the top-right.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Select My Projects in the workspace menu.
  6. Click Save to confirm.

Quick tip

Move team projects to your personal workspace quickly using drag-and-drop! Click and drag the team project from the sidebar and into the My Projects workspace.

Limitations to moving team projects

Team projects contain valuable information that should be kept solely within the team. Here are several limitations to keep in mind before creating or moving team projects:

Move a project to a different team workspace

If you're a member of two or more team workspaces, there's no option to move a team project between workspaces. This helps keep your project’s data safe, and ensures it stays with the team it was created for.

Move a team task to a personal project

Tasks in team projects can’t be moved back to projects in your personal workspace. You can only move team projects and all their tasks in one go.

Non-admins: Move a team project

If you're not a team admin, and you try to transfer a team project into your personal workspace, you'll see a notification to ask an admin to move the project for you.

The admin can move the project to their personal workspace, subsequently share it with you, and then leave the project, if desired.
